- 1) Testing Procedures Course and Certified Concrete Masonry Testing Technician (CCMTT) certification exam
The laboratory sessions and performance exam will be done at the MCPX Lab Booth on the show floor. The classroom sessions on Thursday and Friday will most likely be in conference room in the Colorado Convention Center, and the optional review session and the written exam will either be at the Colorado Convention Center or at the NCMA Hotel.
The registration fee for the Testing Procedures Course & CCMTT exam at MCPX is $595 for NCMA or NPCA members, $695 for nonmembers, and $295 for those who have also purchased an NCMA Convention attendee registration package. This fee also includes admission the MCPX show
- 2) SRW Installer Course and Certified SRW Installer (CSRWI) exam
- 3) Sales and Marketing Education Track (basic marketing skills & tactics; 3rd edition of SRW Design Manual; techniques for selling to architects; overcoming common objections to CMU, SRWs, and Pavers; competing products—concrete masonry v. precast; and marketing the sustainability of CMU, SRWs, and Pavers)
- 4) Management Track (human resources issues and solutions, including new employment laws; personnel development programs in the plant; financial skills for the plant manager; how to build the business; labor supply & workforce development)
- 5) SRW Contractor Track (how do bad things happen to good walls; plans and specs; contractor’s guide to testing & inspection; project management strategies; field safety for hardscape installers)
- 6) Production Technology, Operations, and Safety Track (tools & systems to monitor & control curing; quality control in the plant; managing an effective safety program; fleet management; how to make CMU, SRWs, and Pavers more sustainable—recycled materials and other LEED credit sources; advances in architectural textures, including new ASTM requirements; color systems, measurement instruments, problems, & solutions; total quality management—balancing production cost with product quality)
